Five Fun Ideas for Fall

Check out these local(-ish) fall activities that are sure to garner grins from the whole gang!

(Be sure to check websites in advance for any required reservations and Covid-related safety requirements!)

Pumpkin patches, corn mazes and haunted houses can provide hours of entertainment for kids and kids-at-heart! Bob's Corn & Pumpkin Farm, Swan's Trail Farms and Thomas Family Farm, all in Snohomish, offer a wide range of activities. My personal favorite is the duck races at Swan's Trail! On the scarier end of the spectrum, check out Georgetown Morgue's haunted house in Seattle or stick around at Thomas Farms into the evening for their own haunted house, Nightmare on 9, take a Haunted Hayride or play Zombie Paintball!

For wine enthusiasts: be among the first to try and buy newly released wines at Walla Walla's Fall Release Weekend.

See the fall colors on a drive along the Cascade Loop, Stevens Pass Greenway (one segment of the Cascade Loop) or the Columbia River Gorge. Closer to home and a lovely alternative to a long car ride are Washington Park Arboretum, Bellevue Botanical Garden and Kubota Garden.

Taste some local apple cider at Lattin's Apple Festival in Olympia, held every weekend in October.

Go see a show! Live theater and dance return to Seattle this fall. Check out these upcoming performances.
